Air New Zealand: Flight NZ8096
Taupo to Auckland international
Bombardier Q300 DHC-8 Dash 8 - flying distance 139 miles in 35 minutes
As my time in NZ came to an end, i needed to catch a connecting flight from Taupo to Auckland for my onward trip to Singapore.
Flying from the regional airport at Taupo was such a fun experience.
Taupo has a brand spanking new terminal building, which houses everything from check-in to hospitality, departure and arrival gates and the world smallest baggage reclaim conveyor belt......all in one spacious room.
It's so cute and friendly and gives you the real flying experience.
Checked in for my flight by the baggage manager who also loaded my case onto the plane, we walked less than 50 yards to get on board the Bombardier Q300 50-seater aircraft...and yes I banged my head getting through the smaller entrance door!
Flight was short and sweet - glass of water and biscuit was the inflight meal hahaha - and no sooner had we taken off than we were landing.
Arrived in Auckland, and next stop was Singapore!
More about that in later blogs.
